Life and Health Insurance- Psalm 103 (10/21/21)

In these times we hear so much about health insurance, it makes you go crazy! We all need it and we all need God’s help in that sphere of life. But God offers the best insurance program of all- it's out of this world!​Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being praise his holy name.Praise the Lord, O my soul and forget not all his benefits!Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseasesWho redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion.Who satisfies your desires with good things,So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.What great promises! What great benefits! And no deductible! The Lord’s policy was ratified by the Lord Jesus when he went to the cross and “by his stripes we are healed.” These are truly great promises. The Psalm continues to talk about the blessings and promises of being in God’s covenant, which is today through Jesus! I believe this is one of David’s greatest Psalms, and it prophetically looks forward to the New Covenant in Jesus. It is worth reading the whole Psalm and claiming all the promises in Jesus’ name. It contrasts the days of man which are short compared to eternity, with God’s everlasting promises. “But from everlasting to everlasting is the Lord’s love with those who fear him!” The Lord knows the number of our days and in his time will take us to be with Him. Then death will be swallowed up in victory. Praise the Lord, O my soul! Meanwhile, the Lord promises to give us peace that passes understanding-Philippians 4:7, power to do all things he calls us to do-Philippians 4:13, and provision- He will supply all our needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus-4:19. Let us pray,Lord, you are the source of our health and strength. We often face physical difficulties in this life, so we ask you to take care of our bodies. We ask you for healing of life’s ailments. We thank you that your ultimate blessings are beyond this world. Thank you that Jesus promised abundant life here and a future in heaven. Thank you for all the benefits of your covenant in Christ, salvation, healing, compassion and provision. Renew us to soar like eagles. We bless your Name and praise the Name of Jesus. We ask these things in His Name. Amen.
